Early Uncacheted Covers

A number of early FDC's addressed to Crosby are now known. These are generally uncacheted...or at most have typed remarks on the cover. While Stroebel noted that the earliest known cover was for the October 1929 Scott #681 issue (Ohio Canalization) it is now clear that earlier covers exist. The earliest cover in my collection is for Scott #650 cancelled at Washington, DC on December 13, 1928. I am not aware of an earlier cover as of yet. Also note that there is even a cover for a postal stationery issue...UC1 which was released on January 12, 1929. It is interesting to note the various addresses Crosby used during this time period. Starting with 2 different San Pedro addresses and then moving on to 2 different Long Beach addresses.
